Getting the most out of our Sweeping Program

Keeping Our Neighborhoods Clean, Safe, and Well-Maintained

When you drive through a clean neighborhood, it stands out — not just for how it looks, but for how it feels.  Regular street sweeping keeps our communities in top shape, prevents long-term pavement damage, and makes every street look well cared for.

At Peloton Sweeping Service, we take pride in helping HOAs, gated communities, and private streets stay clean, professional, and welcoming year-round.

Why Street Sweeping Matters

  • Protects Pavement: Fine dirt, gravel, and sand act like sandpaper, grinding against the surface and shortening pavement life.
  • Improves Appearance: Clean streets make a strong first impression for residents, visitors, and prospective buyers.
  • Reduces Dust and Debris: Sweeping keeps dust levels down and prevents buildup that can blow into homes and yards.
  • Supports Property Values: Well-maintained streets reflect a well-managed community, which helps preserve property values.
  • Enhances Neighborhood Pride: A clean street is one of the easiest ways to make a community look cared for and inviting.

Common Misunderstandings About Street Sweeping

  • “It’s just for looks.”
Not true — sweeping is an important part of ongoing pavement maintenance and long-term asset protection.
  • “The sweeper will pick up everything.”
Sweepers are designed for dust, dirt, natural landscape debris and trash — but not if it is wet.  Would you wet your carpet or driveway before vacuuming or sweeping?
  • “Water helps the sweeper.”
Just the opposite!  Sweepers only use water for dust control.  Any excess water in the gutters causes staining.

Simple Things Residents Can Do

  • Move vehicles off the street on sweeping day.
  • Trim back any landscaping that the sweepers must go around.
  • If there is water in the gutters on sweep day, track down its source.  If it is yours, fix it.  If it is from a neighbor, download and print the handouts below for them (or link this post).  They probably have no idea they are the cause of the street staining.
  • If your home vendors service your property on sweep day, consider asking them to park in your driveway.  A significant % of the cars we go around are house cleaners, pool techs, and landscapers.
  • If anyone has a challenge remembering when sweeping is scheduled, consider enrolling in SweeperAlarm. It is a FREE texting service for Peloton Sweeping customers. Ask your property manager for the coupon code for your community.

These simple actions help the sweeper do a better job, get more of the curb swept and keep your neighborhood looking its best.
